While mainstream pop, country and R&B predominantly influence the rest of the country, New Orleans continues to be dominated by "old school music" of jazz, blues, zydeco, and funk and is famous for these genres. The music scene continues to be heavily influenced by jazz and there are clubs dedicated to these genres and are spread throughout the city.
